Tribute to Peter Gaffey

Pete, you were a wonderful friend to both of us for many, many, years and especially to Harry, he thought of you as his best mate. You were always there for us, ready to lend a helping hand. We will miss you terribly but will treasure the wonderful memories we have of all the times we've spent with you and Jo and the family. Rest in peace dear friend until we meet again. You will never be forgotten.

Pete was a big man in every sense. He had an inexhaustible fund of stories and conversation never flagged when he was in the room. His love for his family,his city,MUFC and the odd glass of red wine were always evident.

Pete we have shared so many happy times over the years with Jo and Alan and our families and have some wonderful memories. I like to think you and Alan are back together now, looking out for each other just like old times. Rest well dear brother in law and friend I’ll really miss you.

I first met Pete when i was at college with Chris, and on the rare occasions over the years I was in Pete's company, the room was guaranteed to be a brighter place. He was always interesting, always interested and never short of a great story. He made you feel part of his family that was filled with laughter.

We are thinking of you all at this sad time. Pete was such a character, he was always the first to welcome you at a family do, he lit up the room with his stories and he did the best jive. A loving family man and I'm sure he will not be forgotten and greatly missed!! Love Jonathan, Louise and Alice xx
